Nevada District Attorneys Association Announces Election of Officers for 2023 and Recent Appointments

Douglas County District Attorney (DA) Mark Jackson has been elected President of the Nevada District Attorneys Association (NDAA) for the 2023 term that begins on January 1, 2023.  DA Jackson has served as District Attorney for Douglas County since 2006 and this will be his 4th term as NDAA president, replacing Pershing County District Attorney Bryce Shields.  

Carson City District Attorney Jason Woodbury will continue in the role of NDAA Secretary and Treasurer, a role he has held since 2019.   

On his re-election as President, DA Jackson said, “I am honored to serve again as the President of the NDAA as we work together with our law enforcement partners in upholding the public trust in the application and enforcement of our laws, in making our communities safer, changing lives for the better, and serving our profession honorably.”

I addition to the recent elections, Washoe County istrict Attorney Chris Hicks has been appointed to be serve on the Board of Directors for the National District Attorney’s Association as the State Director for Nevada.  This National Association’s mission is to be the voice of America’s prosecutors and to support their efforts to protect the rights and safety of all citizens.

Referencing his new role with NDAA, DA Hicks commented, “I look forward to supporting prosecutors, public safety, and victims of crime at a national level while bringing a Nevada-centric view of critical issues facing the criminal justice system that need attention.”
